Bettendorf, Iowa Logo Design

Nearly every new Bettendorf organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely realize the crucial role their business logo will take in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting effect on the viability of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bettendorf, Iowa businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Bettendorf, Iowa coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old part the city and really wanted to project a vintage tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks through developing a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Bettendorf, Iowa clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Bettendorf, Iowa traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bettendorf logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bettendorf logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Bettendorf, Iowa publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a printed book since it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many cases one of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Bettendorf logo design used for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Bettendorf, Iowa, design include an arc with lines converging via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which projected a feeling of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is usually the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style functions as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Bettendorf business logo dsign with an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Bettendorf, Iowa area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to create a graphic that projected assurance, success, and wealth.

Bettendorf Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design made for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
