Burlington Logo Design

Each and every new Burlington business knows they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly grasp the key role their organization logo can play in their success, or why one business logo functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Burlington companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Burlington coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of town and wanted to cast a vintage tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by designing a sign concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Burlington medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Burlington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Burlington traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Burlington logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Burlington logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Burlington publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Burlington logo layout used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this business logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Burlington, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that projected a sense of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design created for a steed cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, layout contains a customized script typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the style attributes and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a Burlington interior developer, style feature a series of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Burlington logo design dsign with a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Burlington area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to make a brand mark that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
