TIPS FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can’t refund the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not contain real life samples odds are they will never be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to echo your personal vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Indianola LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop notable brand identities. We’ve performed branding work for farmers, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every logo design project as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you may have found in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are contracted to perform, we do in-house. No matter the kind of project we accept, logo, website design, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s work to 3rd parties based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Indianola business understands that they probably need a logo, however few start-ups thoroughly grasp the vital role their logo design will play in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Indianola businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to ensure that it can be recognized, its genesis comes from the brand branded onto livestock. Nowadays a brand symbolizes basically anything with a motive, whether it be profit or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a specific audience, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody says the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals purchase most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the beginning of many branding companies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded advertising agencies. When a person claims they are in advertising and marketing most people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps form the public image of a firm, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some identity designers also build web sites and user interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of affecting activities, end results and also assumptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Indianola coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were launching in an older part of town and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via developing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Indianola clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Indianola.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Indianola travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Indianola logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Indianola logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Indianola publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the items individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Indianola logo style used for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Indianola, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a Indianola hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related an atmosphere of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a business logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct custom logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Indianola Coffee shop logo design a tiny dining establishment, layout consists of a customized manuscript font which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, design includes a customized manuscript font which hovers over a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo style for a software program designer the style attributes and iconic Indianola aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Evolve logo layout produced for a Indianolainterior designer, design function a collection of red circles that converge and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Indianola interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, researches, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, investigation, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and execution of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Indianola, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been changed to tie directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Indianola logo design job was carried out for a management expert that aids business professionals to develop into more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Indianola business logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Indianola logo design along with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Indianola company logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Indianola regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to create a graphic that projected esteem, success, and luxury.

Indianola Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrow and the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular Indianola sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
