Muscatine Logo Design

Virtually every new Muscatine organization knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly understand the key role their company logo can play in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Muscatine companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Muscatine coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older part of the area and really wanted to project a nostalgic tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by designing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria developed for Muscatine clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a family members fun facility in Muscatine.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Muscatine travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead project emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Muscatine logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Muscatine logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of difficulties, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Muscatine publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Muscatine logo design used for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Muscatine, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that virtually every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which related a sense of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout created for an equine ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application developer the design functions and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Muscatine business logo dsign using an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really composed for an Muscatine area farm it was in reality devised for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to develop a graphic that projected esteem, success, and wealth.
Logo design created for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
