Hays Logo Design

Each and every new Hays business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely are aware of the vital role their company logo will play in their financial success, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term influence on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Hays businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Hays coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an older section of the town and wanted to cast a retro atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of creating a symbol concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Hays medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Hays.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Hays travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hays logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Hays logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design recognize how important a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Hays book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a printed book because it is often the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Hays logo style utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Hays, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that almost every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which carried a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian equine logo style produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a unique logo concept styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having an identifiable head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable horse lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, layout includes a changed script font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout functions as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

Develop logo layout developed for a Hays interior designer, layout attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Hays interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in middle of the word progressed have actually been modified to connect straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Hays logo design assignment was undertaken for a management guide that helps business leaders to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Hays logo dsign along with an image which seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Hays area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to create a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo developed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
