Leavenworth, Kansas Logo Design

Virtually every new Leavenworth company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their organization logo can perform in their financial success, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term influence on the success of a business, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Leavenworth, Kansas businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Leavenworth, Kansas coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the community and wished to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by designing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Leavenworth, Kansas clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Leavenworth, Kansas travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Leavenworth logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Leavenworth logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Leavenworth, Kansas publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the aspects people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Leavenworth logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Leavenworth, Kansas, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that projected a sense of contentment and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application designer the style features as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

logo design provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of words progressed have been modified to tie straight right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Leavenworth, Kansas logo design project was carried out for a leadership specialist that helps business leaders to develop into more efficient at handling people, expectations, and productivity.
A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Leavenworth logo dsign with an illustration that grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Leavenworth, Kansas area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this company was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a image that projected esteem, financial success, and opulence.

Leavenworth Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly facing arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo made for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
