POINTERS FOR FINDING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual examples odds are they will never be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your organization. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Lenexa LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brand identities. We’ve performed branding work for ranchers, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, bistros, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or website headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you may have come across online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to perform, we perform in-house. No matter the type of project we undertake, logo, website design, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s projects to 3rd parties located outside the USA. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the cost of your design project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Every new Lenexa business understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully recognize the vital role their business logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one business logo performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the viability of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lenexa businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of denoting something so that it could be recognized, its foundation originates from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand signifies basically anything with a motive, regardless if it be profit or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals buy specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of most branding companies you’ll find that they are frequently re-branded advertising and marketing agencies. When someone claims they are in advertising most people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps form the image of a company, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some visual designers also build sites as well as user interfaces. The essential role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, end results and also perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Lenexa coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an old section of the city and wished to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by designing a custom logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Lenexa medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family members fun facility in Lenexa.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Lenexa traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lenexa logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lenexa logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Lenexa publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a printed book since it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Lenexa logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Lenexa, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects because it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Lenexa hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which projected a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Lenexa Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, style contains a changed script typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny dining establishment, style includes a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style features and renowned Lenexa component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a Lenexaindoor designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Lenexa interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who prepares, explores, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, investigation, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Lenexa, the personalities for letter V and also A in middle of words progressed have actually been modified to tie straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Lenexa logo design job was completed for a leadership consultant that enables business professionals to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Lenexa business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Lenexa logo design design utilizing an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Lenexa company logo layout has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Lenexa regional farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Lenexa Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally facing arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a renowned Lenexa sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
