Kentucky Logo Design

Each and every new Kentucky  business realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully grasp the vital role their logo design can perform in their success, or exactly why one business logo works far better than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term influence on the financial success of a company, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Kentucky businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Kentucky coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old section of town and wished to project a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by designing a logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Kentucky medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun center in Kentucky.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Kentucky travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Kentucky  logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Kentucky logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo recognize how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Kentucky publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book considering that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to confering a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Kentucky logo design used for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Kentucky, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really really love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried a sense of peace and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a steed ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, style consists of a changed manuscript typeface which hovers above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, style contains a modified manuscript typeface which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the layout features as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Kentucky logo design assignment was undertaken for a leadership consultant that aids business leaders to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Kentucky business logo design utilizing an image that captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually produced for an Kentucky  farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to produce a graphic that projects confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Kentucky Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design designed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
