Independence Logo Design

Each and every new Independence venture knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully comprehend the vital role their organization logo can perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions far better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Independence companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Independence coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of the town and wished to project a retro feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via developing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for Independence medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members fun facility in Independence.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Independence traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Independence logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Independence logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Independence publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many cases 1 of the things consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was definitely a victory.

Independence logo design used for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Independence, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which communicated a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design created for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind brand design tailored to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With a different head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Logo design for a software programmer the design attributes as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

Develop logo layout created for a Independence interior developer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Independence business logo dsign with an illustration that captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually created for an Independence regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to create an identity that projects esteem, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design created for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
