Murray Logo Design

Virtually every new Murray company understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the vital role their logo design will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design works far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term effect on the growth of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Murray companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Murray coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older section of the area and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via developing a company logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria developed for Murray clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun center in Murray.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Murray travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Murray logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Murray logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Murray book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Murray logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Murray, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that related a spirit of peace and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style functions and also legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Murray logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually produced for an Murray area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to produce an identity that projects trust, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
