STRATEGIES FOR PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real life samples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Newburg LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners grow notable brands. We’ve done logo design work for ranchers, colleges, diamond miners, wedding singers, cafes, retailers, and just about every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be used as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first approach our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are brought on board to perform, we do in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we take on, brand identity design, web page, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm out our customer’s work to contractors based outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your project and dictates the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Newburg business realizes that they probably need a logo, however few start-ups fully understand the vital role their business logo will play in their financial success, or exactly why one business logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the growth of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Newburg businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and the process of marking something so that it can be identified, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto livestock. Today a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the target market will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When someone states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals purchase most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of many branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing agencies. When somebody states they are in advertising many people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the image of a firm, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some identity designers also design sites as well as user interfaces. The necessary role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes as well as understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Newburg coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of the community and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of designing a symbol design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Newburg clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a family members fun facility in Newburg.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Newburg traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newburg logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Newburg logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo realize how important a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Newburg book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the initial thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many instances one of the things folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a winner.

Newburg logo design used for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance includes an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Newburg, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design created for a Newburg hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo that conveyed a spirit of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct brand concept styled to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With an unique head form and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most quite easily recognizable equine types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Newburg Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, style contains a changed script font style which floats over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, layout includes a customized manuscript font style which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program designer the layout functions and renowned Newburg component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Develop logo design produced for a Newburgindoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Newburg interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who arranges, researches, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Newburg, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have been modified to tie directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Newburg logo design project was done for a management expert that aids business leaders to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A Newburg business logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Newburg logo design design along with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Newburg company logo design has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually created for an Newburg area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a brand mark that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Newburg Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for externally dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design designed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known Newburg sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
