Nicholasville Logo Design

Nearly every new Nicholasville organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the essential role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Nicholasville companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Nicholasville coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an older part of the town and wanted to visualize a nostalgic vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of developing a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also germs created for Nicholasville clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Nicholasville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Nicholasville travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Nicholasville logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Nicholasville logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Nicholasville publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a printed book because it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Nicholasville logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Nicholasville, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that almost every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that carried a feeling of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious path of creating just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software application designer the design functions and iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Nicholasville logo design dsign using an image which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Nicholasville area farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this company was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to develop an identity that projects assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo design made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
