TIPS FOR FINDING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design agency can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real world samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they can get paid.

Saint Matthews LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow unforgettable brands. We have done brand design work for ranchers, educational institutions, diamond miners, party planners, diners, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first method insures that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered regardless of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

Something which truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you may have come across on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are retained to do, we do ourselves. No matter the kind of design project we undertake, logo design, website, trade show exhibition, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s projects to contractors located outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the price of your project and dictates the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Saint Matthews organization knows they probably need a logo, however few new business owners entirely understand the vital role their company logo can make in their financial success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Saint Matthews companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the process of noting something to make sure that it can be distinguished, its foundation originates from the mark branded onto animals. Nowadays a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with an objective, regardless if it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to develop a mental image that the audience will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody states the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals buy specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of the majority of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are frequently re-branded advertising companies. When somebody claims they are in marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps form the image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and sales brochures. Some identity designers also develop web sites and also software interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of influencing activities, end results as well as understandings.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Saint Matthews coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an old part of the community and really wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both tasks by developing a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Saint Matthews medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping green frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Saint Matthews.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Saint Matthews traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Saint Matthews logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Saint Matthews logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get honest judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo recognize how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s share of hurdles, however the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Saint Matthews publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Saint Matthews logo layout used for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Saint Matthews, design include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a Saint Matthews hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that related an atmosphere of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style created for an equine ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logo concept customized to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With an identifiable head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable horse lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Saint Matthews Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified manuscript font style which floats above a group of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout contains a modified script font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and also iconic Saint Matthews aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Advance logo design created for a Saint Matthewsinterior designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Saint Matthews interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, explores, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site assessments, programming, research study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Saint Matthews, the characters for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been customized to link directly right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Saint Matthews logo design job was performed for a management guide that enables business professionals to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Saint Matthews business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Saint Matthews logo design design along with a graphic that seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Saint Matthews company logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually created for an Saint Matthews regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a image that projects assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Saint Matthews Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first try.

Logo developed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a famous Saint Matthews sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
