Shively Logo Design

Virtually every new Shively business realizes that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely comprehend the vital role their company logo can take in their success, or precisely why one business logo works better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining influence on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Shively businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Shively coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the community and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by creating a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for Shively medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable center in Shively.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Shively travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shively logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Shively logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Shively book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many cases 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Shively logo layout made use of for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Shively, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which conveyed a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software designer the design features and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Shively logo dsign using an image that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Shively regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to design an identity that projects trust, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
