Lake Havasu City Logo Design

Nearly every new Lake Havasu City business realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their logo can perform in their success, or the reason that one business logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Lake Havasu City businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Lake Havasu City coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old part of the town and wanted to visualize a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by creating a custom logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Lake Havasu City clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Lake Havasu City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Lake Havasu City traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lake Havasu City logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lake Havasu City logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get objective assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their business logo understand how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Lake Havasu City book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many instances one of the aspects individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Lake Havasu City logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Lake Havasu City, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried a sense of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software program programmer the style features and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lake Havasu City logo design dsign utilizing an illustration which grabs the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really designed for an Lake Havasu City regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a graphic that projected assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo made for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
