Natchitoches Logo Design

Virtually every new Natchitoches business understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly recognize the vital role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Natchitoches businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Natchitoches coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old part of the community and wanted to visualize a retro tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks by creating a sign design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Natchitoches medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Natchitoches.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Natchitoches traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Natchitoches logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Natchitoches logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Natchitoches book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Natchitoches logo style used for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Natchitoches, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which communicated an atmosphere of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo layout for a software program developer the style functions and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Natchitoches business logo dsign along with an illustration which captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Natchitoches area farm it was really developed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate an identity that projected assurance, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
