Marana Logo Design

Nearly every new Marana organization understands that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the key role their logo design will make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one business logo performs far better than another. A logo design has an instant and long term influence on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Marana businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Marana coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old section of town and hoped to visualize a vintage feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both tasks by means of developing a trademark concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for Marana medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable center in Marana.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Marana traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Marana logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Marana logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s share of difficulties, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Marana book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many cases one of the items folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Marana logo style utilized for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Marana, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a spirit of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style produced for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized script typeface which hovers over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software designer the layout functions and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Marana logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Marana area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate an identity that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to create a logo that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
