TIPS ON FINDING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design company offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not refund the time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a designer can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain real world examples chances are they won’t be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to echo your unique vision for your company. If a designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Carney LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brands. We’ve performed logo design work for farmers, universities, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes ImageCo different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every brand identity project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique insures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

Something that really sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you might have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are hired to do, we do in-house. Regardless of the type of design project we undertake, logo design, website, trade show booth, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s work to agencies based outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the price of your design project and imposes the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Every new Carney company understands that they probably need a logo, yet few start ups entirely comprehend the essential role their business logo will make in their becoming successful, or why one logo functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and long term effect on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Carney companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to make sure that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand symbolizes basically anything with an intention, regardless of whether it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are all from the exact same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the target market will likely relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody says the brand names Porsche or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals get specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the beginning of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When somebody states they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps form the public image of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also design sites and software interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, outcomes and also assumptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Carney coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs made for Carney medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a household fun center in Carney.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Carney traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Carney logo but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Carney logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Carney publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book given that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences one of the aspects folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Carney logo style utilized for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Carney, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects because it seems that every single dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a Carney hair style studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which related an atmosphere of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo layout created for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original logotype concept fashioned to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. By having a distinctive head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Carney Coffee shop logo design a tiny dining establishment, design consists of a modified manuscript font which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny restaurant, design consists of a customized script font which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the style features and famous Carney element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Advance logo style developed for a Carneyindoor designer, design feature a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Carney interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, explores, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that consists of conceptual development, space planning, location inspections, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Carney, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of words progressed have been changed to link straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Carney logo design assignment was completed for a management consultant that enables business professionals to develop into more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Carney business logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Carney business logo design along with a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Carney company logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Carney area farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop an identity that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Carney Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a popular Carney sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
