Catonsville Logo Design

Every new Catonsville company understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the key role their company logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design works better than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the financial success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Catonsville businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Catonsville coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an old section of the town and really wanted to cast a nostalgic feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks via developing a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Catonsville medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a household enjoyable facility in Catonsville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Catonsville travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Catonsville logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Catonsville logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Catonsville publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the traits folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Catonsville logo design used for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Catonsville, layout include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that communicated a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a company logo that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind custom logo concept customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having a distinctive head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, design includes a customized script font style which floats above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions as well as famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Develop logo style produced for a Catonsville indoor developer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Catonsville logo dsign using an illustration which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really designed for an Catonsville area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate a graphic that projects self-assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo developed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
