Dundalk Logo Design

Each and every new Dundalk organization understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the vital role their business logo can take in their success, or why one business logo performs better than another. A logo design has a critical and sustaining impact on the growth of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Dundalk businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Dundalk coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an old part of the community and wanted to project a vintage vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished the two tasks via developing a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Dundalk clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family fun center in Dundalk.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Dundalk traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dundalk logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Dundalk logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Dundalk book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the things people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a success.

Dundalk logo style made use of for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Dundalk, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Dundalk business logo dsign utilizing a graphic that garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Dundalk area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a brand mark that projected confidence, success, and affluence.
Logo made for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
