Essex Logo Design

Every new Essex venture knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their business logo will take in their success, or why one logo performs better than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the success of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Essex businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Essex coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old part of the town and wished to cast a vintage atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of creating a sign concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Essex medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family members fun center in Essex.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Essex traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Essex logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Essex logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Essex book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the traits individuals tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a winner.

Essex logo layout used for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Essex, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which related a spirit of contentment and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the attention on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style produced for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind brand concept fashioned to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a different head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most easily identifiable horse types in the world.

Las Cafe logo style a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified script font which floats above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, layout includes a changed manuscript font which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout features and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a Essex interior developer, style feature a collection of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Essex logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Essex area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
