Hagerstown Logo Design

Each and every new Hagerstown organization realizes that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the vital role their logo will take in their success, or why one logo works better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term effect on the financial success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Hagerstown businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Hagerstown coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an older section of the community and really wanted to project a retro atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by designing a logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Hagerstown clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a household fun facility in Hagerstown.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Hagerstown traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hagerstown logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hagerstown logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased assessments on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of challenges, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Hagerstown publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects individuals tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Hagerstown logo style used for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be used for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Hagerstown, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that projected a sense of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout attributes and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Hagerstown logo dsign along with an image which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Hagerstown regional farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a graphic that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
