Lake Shore Logo Design

Virtually every new Lake Shore venture understands that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly are aware of the key role their company logo can play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design performs far better than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lake Shore companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Lake Shore coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an old section of the community and wished to visualize a retro atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs via developing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria created for Lake Shore medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Lake Shore.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Lake Shore traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lake Shore logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Lake Shore logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Lake Shore book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book given that it is often the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Lake Shore logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Lake Shore, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which projected a sense of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo design for a software programmer the layout features as well as legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Lake Shore logo dsign using a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an Lake Shore area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design designed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
