STRATEGIES ON IDENTIFYING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t reimburse the time you invest which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual examples odds are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Middle River LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs grow memorable brand identities. We have performed branding work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, party planners, diners, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. Because of our sign first approach our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first method guarantees that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you probably have encountered in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are contracted to perform, we do ourselves. No matter the type of design project we undertake, business logo, web page, trade show booth, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s work to contractors based outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the price of your project and imposes the terms of how you and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Middle River company knows they require a logo, yet few start ups fully understand the essential role their business logo can make in their financial success, or why one business logo works better than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting impact on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Middle River companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of noting something to make sure that it could be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto animals. These days a brand symbolizes pretty much anything with an objective, regardless of whether it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are both from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a target audience, it’s objective is to develop an image that the target market can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the names Porsche or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why people buy specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding companies you’ll find that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When a person states they are in advertising and marketing the majority of people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps form the image of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and brochures. Some identity designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The essential role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the goal of affecting actions, outcomes and perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Middle River coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the town and wanted to project a vintage tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of designing a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs designed for Middle River clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family members fun center in Middle River.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Middle River traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Middle River logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Middle River logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Middle River publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Middle River logo style utilized for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Instance features an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Middle River, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Middle River hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo that carried a sense of calmness and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original business logo concept tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With an unique head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Middle River restaurant logo layout a little dining establishment, design consists of a customized manuscript font style which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, design contains a changed manuscript typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions and renowned Middle River component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Develop logo style developed for a Middle Riverindoor designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Middle River interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, researches, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, location evaluations, programming, investigation, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Middle River, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words advanced have actually been modified to link directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Middle River logo design assignment was completed for a leadership guide that enables business leaders to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A Middle River business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Middle River logo design design utilizing an illustration that pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Middle River company logo style has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually created for an Middle River area farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a graphic that projected trust, financial success, and opulence.

Middle River Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo layout feature for externally dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo developed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a renowned Middle River sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
