North Bethesda Logo Design

Virtually every new North Bethesda venture realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely understand the vital role their logo design will play in their success, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long term influence on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help North Bethesda businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a North Bethesda coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an older section of the community and wished to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by means of designing a business logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for North Bethesda medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in North Bethesda.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for North Bethesda traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  North Bethesda logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

North Bethesda logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how essential a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for North Bethesda book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the aspects consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

North Bethesda logo style used for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an archaic font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in North Bethesda, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried a feeling of contentment and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style created for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their North Bethesda logo design dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really produced for an North Bethesda regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to generate a graphic that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
