Odenton Logo Design

Every new Odenton venture realizes that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully recognize the essential role their organization logo will perform in their success, or precisely why one logo design works better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Odenton companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Odenton coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old part of town and wanted to visualize a retro feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs via designing a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs designed for Odenton medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Odenton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Odenton traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Odenton logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Odenton logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Odenton book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most essential part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many cases 1 of the items individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Odenton logo design used for marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Odenton, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Logo layout for a software developer the design features as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Odenton logo design dsign with a graphic which grabs the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Odenton area farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to create a graphic that projects assurance, success, and affluence.
Logo design created for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the owner to create a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
