Olney Logo Design

Each and every new Olney company understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully grasp the essential role their company logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term influence on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Olney businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be realized in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Olney coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an older section of the area and wished to cast a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by creating a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Olney medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Olney.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Olney traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Olney logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Olney logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s share of hurdles, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Olney publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Olney logo style made use of for advertising and a label design for Vintage Situation features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Olney, design include an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that each and every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a spirit of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application programmer the layout attributes and also renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell off their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Olney business logo dsign along with an illustration that grabs the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t actually designed for an Olney regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this particular trademark was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to produce a brand mark that projected self-confidence, financial success, and luxury.
Logo design developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
