Silver Spring Logo Design

Each and every new Silver Spring company realizes that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the key role their business logo can take in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term impact on the success of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Silver Spring companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Silver Spring coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old part of the town and wished to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two jobs via creating a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Silver Spring medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog made for a family members fun facility in Silver Spring.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Silver Spring travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Silver Spring logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Silver Spring logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Silver Spring publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many cases one of the things folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Silver Spring logo design made use of for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Silver Spring, style include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that projected an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo design for a software developer the design features and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Silver Spring logo design dsign utilizing an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really produced for an Silver Spring area farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and luxury.
Logo created for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
