Towson Logo Design

Every new Towson company understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the essential role their organization logo will make in their success, or why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and lasting influence on the prosperity of a business, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Towson businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Towson coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of town and really wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by means of creating a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs made for Towson medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Towson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Towson travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Towson logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Towson logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of challenges, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Towson book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book since it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many cases one of the traits folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Towson logo style made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Situation includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Towson, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which related a sense of peace and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct logo design tailored to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. By having an unique head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a small dining establishment, style consists of a changed script font style which hovers above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Progress logo design developed for a Towson indoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word advanced have actually been modified to link directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Towson business logo dsign using a graphic which captures the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually developed for an Towson regional farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a graphic that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo designed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
