Massachusetts Logo Design

Virtually every new Massachusetts organization realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the essential role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting effect on the growth of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Massachusetts companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Massachusetts coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the city and wanted to cast a vintage tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs by means of developing a company logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Massachusetts medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design Project

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Massachusetts.

Cool Springs | Retail Branding Project

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Massachusetts traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Massachusetts logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Massachusetts logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design Project

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Massachusetts book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design Project

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a published book since it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books. This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design Project

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to confering a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Massachusetts logo layout used for advertising and a tag style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design Project

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Massachusetts, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design Project

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry. I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on. Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.
William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design Project

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate. The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.
Logo design produced for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which related a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.
Arabian steed logo layout created for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design Project

ImageCo created a distinct organization logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable horse lineages in the world.
Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, design consists of a changed script font style which hovers over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design Project

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, layout consists of a customized script font which floats above a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software programmer the style features and also iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design Project

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo style developed for a Massachusetts indoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Massachusetts logo design project was done for a management guide that helps business professionals to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.
A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Massachusetts logo design design along with a graphic that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually produced for an Massachusetts regional farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make a brand mark that projects self-assurance, financial success, and affluence.

Massachusetts Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for externally facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo developed for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
