Arlington Logo Design

Each and every new Arlington organization knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners fully understand the pivotal role their business logo can make in their success, or why one business logo performs better than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Arlington businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Arlington coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an old part of the community and wished to visualize a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs by means of creating a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Arlington medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recollect where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Arlington.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Arlington traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Arlington logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Arlington logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get impartial opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo realize how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s share of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Arlington book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most critical part of a published book given that it is often the primary thing a person views in the book store. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many instances one of the items consumers usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Arlington logo layout used for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Arlington, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which conveyed a feeling of ease and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian horse logo layout produced for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, layout contains a modified script typeface which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software program designer the style attributes and legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk managing. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of the word advanced have been changed to tie straight right into words below.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Arlington logo dsign with an illustration which captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually created for an Arlington area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate a brand mark that projected confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
