Auburn Logo Design

Each and every new Auburn venture knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their organization logo can play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design performs far better than another. A logo design has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Auburn businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Auburn coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening in an old section of the community and wanted to project a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs by creating a company logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Auburn medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a family members fun facility in Auburn.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Auburn traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Auburn logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Auburn logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased opinions on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s share of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Auburn publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most important part of a printed book since it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many cases 1 of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Auburn logo style made use of for advertising as well as a label design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Auburn, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it appears that every single dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that carried an atmosphere of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design created for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original creative logo concept tailored to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With a distinctive head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Logo design for a software developer the layout functions and also renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Auburn business logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Auburn regional farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to design a brand mark that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
