Chelmsford, Massachusetts Logo Design

Nearly every new Chelmsford business knows they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely recognize the pivotal role their logo design can make in their success, or exactly why one logo design performs better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term effect on the financial success of a company, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Chelmsford, Massachusetts companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Chelmsford, Massachusetts coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an old part of the area and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs by means of designing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs developed for Chelmsford, Massachusetts medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which studies the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Chelmsford, Massachusetts traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Chelmsford logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Chelmsford logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Chelmsford, Massachusetts publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Chelmsford logo layout used for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it appears that almost every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design that projected a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design which did not go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software application developer the style functions as well as legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Chelmsford logo dsign with an image that seizes the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really produced for an Chelmsford, Massachusetts area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate an identity that projects confidence, success, and luxury.

Chelmsford Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style feature for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the opportunity to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first try.

Logo design made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
