Concord, Massachusetts Logo Design

Virtually every new Concord company understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully realize the vital role their business logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting impact on the viability of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Concord, Massachusetts companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Concord, Massachusetts coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old part of the community and hoped to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished the two jobs via developing a company logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Concord, Massachusetts clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a family members fun facility in Concord, Massachusetts.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Concord, Massachusetts traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don't Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable ¬†Concord logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Concord logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Concord, Massachusetts book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many cases 1 of the items individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Concord logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Concord, Massachusetts, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which projected a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is usually the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo design created for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software application developer the design features as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

This particular Concord, Massachusetts logo design job was carried out for a management advisor that assists business leaders to develop into more efficient at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts.
I tailored their Concord logo dsign utilizing an illustration that grabs the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually developed for an Concord, Massachusetts regional farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.

Concord Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for ostensibly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
