Concord, Massachusetts Logo Design

Virtually every new Concord company understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their organization’s logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo design functions far better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term effect on the growth of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Concord, Massachusetts businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Concord, Massachusetts coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of the town and really wanted to visualize a retro vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by developing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Concord, Massachusetts clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a household fun facility in Concord, Massachusetts.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Concord, Massachusetts travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Concord logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Concord logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased opinions on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Concord, Massachusetts publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book because it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems that in many cases one of the things folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was surely a victory.

Concord logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a label style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Concord, Massachusetts, design include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dental care business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo that carried an atmosphere of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software developer the layout attributes and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Concord business logo dsign utilizing an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually composed for an Concord, Massachusetts area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this company logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to make an identity that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and wealth.

Concord Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for outwardly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo made for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
