POINTERS FOR DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot reimburse the amount of time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature actual examples chances are they will never be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Fitchburg LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate notable brands. We’ve done brand identity design work for mechanics, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, bistros, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you probably have come across on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are enlisted to perform, we do in-house. Regardless of the kind of design project we accept, business logo, business website, trade show display, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to contractors based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your design project and determines the terms of how my customers and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Fitchburg business understands that they need a logo, yet few start-ups fully grasp the key role their business logo will play in their financial success, or why one logo performs far better than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the growth of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Fitchburg companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to store signs a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the act of marking something so that it could be recognized, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto animals. Nowadays a brand represents pretty much anything with an intention, whether it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are each from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody states the brand names Porsche or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those products. Brand image is why people identify with most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you look back at the beginning of the majority of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded advertising agencies. When a person states they are in advertising most people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when someone states “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds more attractive, maybe it’s due to the fact that the majority of people do not understand what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and attractive.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that explains the visual components of a product or agency that affect understandings. This largely includes the name, the logo, the product packaging, the colors used however can likewise include audio, illumination, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps form the image of a firm, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, as well as collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some identity designers also design sites and also software interfaces. The necessary role of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing activities, outcomes as well as understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Fitchburg coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older section of the town and wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by developing a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Fitchburg medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping green frog developed for a family enjoyable facility in Fitchburg.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Fitchburg travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Fitchburg logo but also to illustrate the depth in her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Fitchburg logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s share of obstacles, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Fitchburg book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most important part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many cases 1 of the traits folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was surely a winner.

Fitchburg logo design used for marketing and a label style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Fitchburg, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a Fitchburg hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that related a sense of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo style developed for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original business logo design styled to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. With an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little restaurant, layout includes a changed script typeface which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software designer the style attributes and iconic Fitchburg component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a Fitchburgindoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Fitchburg interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who prepares, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Fitchburg logo design project was done for a management advisor that enables business professionals to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A Fitchburg business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Fitchburg logo design design along with an image that seizes the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Fitchburg company logo layout has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Fitchburg regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a graphic that projects trust, success, and prosperity.

Fitchburg Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for externally dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a popular Fitchburg sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the proprietor to produce a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
