Framingham Logo Design

Nearly every new Framingham business realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely understand the essential role their logo design can play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works more effectively than another. A logo design has a critical and long term impact on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Framingham businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Framingham coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older part of town and wanted to cast a retro tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of creating a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Framingham medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Framingham.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Framingham traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Framingham logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Framingham logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Framingham publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Framingham logo design made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Case includes an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Framingham, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried an atmosphere of peace and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout features and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Framingham logo dsign using a graphic which pulls in the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Framingham regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to develop a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and opulence.
Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
