Gloucester Logo Design

Nearly every new Gloucester company understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the crucial role their logo design can perform in their financial success, or the reason that one business logo works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term influence on the prosperity of a company, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Gloucester companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Gloucester coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the area and hoped to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both tasks by developing a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Gloucester medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the clinical evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Gloucester.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Gloucester travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Gloucester logo but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Gloucester logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Gloucester book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems like that in many cases one of the aspects individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

Gloucester logo style utilized for advertising and a label design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Gloucester, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which projected an atmosphere of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software programmer the design features as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Gloucester business logo dsign along with an image that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really produced for an Gloucester area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
