Malden Logo Design

Nearly every new Malden company understands that they are in need of a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully understand the essential role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design performs better than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term effect on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Malden businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Malden coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the town and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of designing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Malden clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Malden.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - created for Malden travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Malden logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Malden logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however my client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s share of challenges, but the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Malden book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a published book given that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the things consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Malden logo design utilized for advertising and a tag layout for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Malden, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that projected a sense of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application developer the layout features as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Malden logo dsign with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Malden regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to make an identity that projects self-confidence, success, and prosperity.
Logo designed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo design which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
