Milford Logo Design

Nearly every new Milford venture knows they need a logo, but few new business owners fully comprehend the key role their business logo will take in their becoming successful, or exactly why one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long-term impact on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Milford companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Milford coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older section of the town and really wanted to project a retro vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both of these jobs via designing a business logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Milford medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable center in Milford.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Milford traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Milford logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Milford logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job has it’s share of hurdles, but the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Milford publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most necessary part of a published book because it is often the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases one of the traits consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Milford logo layout used for marketing as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Milford, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which communicated a feeling of simplicity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design functions and also iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo style developed for a Milford indoor designer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and A in center of words advanced have been changed to link directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Milford logo design project was performed for a management advisor that aids business professionals to become more successful at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Milford logo design dsign using an image which garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually produced for an Milford regional farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this particular creative logo was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce an identity that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo created for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
