Natick, Massachusetts Logo Design

Every new Natick organization understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the key role their company logo can make in their becoming successful, or why one business logo works far better than another. A company logo has a critical and long-term impact on the viability of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Natick, Massachusetts businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to movie screens a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle produced for a Natick, Massachusetts coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old section of the city and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of creating a custom logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs developed for Natick, Massachusetts clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog created for a family members fun facility in Natick, Massachusetts.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Natick, Massachusetts traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Natick logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Natick logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Natick, Massachusetts book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a published book since it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many cases one of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Natick logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Instance features an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this brand concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Natick, Massachusetts, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which communicated a feeling of tranquility and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of making merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a logo design that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for an equine cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software application programmer the style features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Natick business logo dsign with a graphic which seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t actually designed for an Natick, Massachusetts area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and prosperity.

Natick Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for externally facing arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo developed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is similar to a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
