Newburyport Logo Design

Each and every new Newburyport business knows they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully comprehend the vital role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Newburyport companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Newburyport coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older part of town and hoped to project an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks via creating a business logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for Newburyport clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Newburyport.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Newburyport traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newburyport logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Newburyport logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Newburyport publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many occurrences one of the items consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of flight and it was definitely a success.

Newburyport logo layout made use of for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Case includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Newburyport, design include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a business logo which related an atmosphere of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I created a design which did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software application programmer the layout features and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Newburyport business logo dsign along with a graphic which seizes the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually developed for an Newburyport area farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to generate a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
