Norton Logo Design

Virtually every new Norton venture understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the crucial role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting effect on the prosperity of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Norton businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Norton coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an older section of the community and wanted to cast a nostalgic tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the jobs via creating a trademark design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria made for Norton clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family members enjoyable center in Norton.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Norton travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Norton logo design but also to reveal the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Norton logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Norton book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart but it seems like that in many cases 1 of the aspects individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Norton logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Norton, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which related a feeling of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style features as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Norton business logo dsign utilizing an image that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually created for an Norton regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to design a graphic that projected confidence, success, and affluence.
Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
