Palmer Logo Design

Virtually every new Palmer company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the vital role their business logo can take in their success, or exactly why one logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has an immediate and sustaining impact on the success of a business, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Palmer companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be understood in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Palmer coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an old section of the city and wanted to cast a vintage atmosphere without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via designing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Palmer medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog developed for a family members fun center in Palmer.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Palmer traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Palmer logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Palmer logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Palmer publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book due to the fact that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Palmer logo design made use of for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Palmer, layout include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which related a spirit of relaxation and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to market their previously owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Palmer business logo dsign along with an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really designed for an Palmer area farm it was actually devised for a commodities broker, and this logo design was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a graphic that projects confidence, success, and affluence.
Logo designed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
