POINTERS ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain real life examples odds are they will not be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Revere LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds grow notable brand identities. We’ve performed brand design work for farmers, educational institutions, diamond miners, wedding singers, restaurants, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you probably have found in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are contracted to perform, we perform in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we undertake, brand identity design, website, trade show banners, or electric sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s projects to contractors based outside the United States. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the price of your design project and dictates the conditions of how my customers and I do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Revere organization knows they require a logo, however few start-ups entirely understand the essential role their logo design can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the financial success of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Revere companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is both a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the process of denoting something so that it can be identified, its origin comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand signifies practically anything with a motive, regardless if it be earnings or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are both from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the history of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When somebody claims they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design that helps form the image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also design web sites and user interfaces. The crucial function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, outcomes and also understandings.

select signs/logos

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Revere coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old section of town and wished to cast a nostalgic tone without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks via designing a trademark design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Revere medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog created for a family fun facility in Revere.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Revere traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Revere logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Revere logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of challenges, but the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Revere publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is usually the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was certainly a winner.

Revere logo layout utilized for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Revere, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to describe specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a Revere hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that conveyed a feeling of relaxation and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind brand design styled to symbolize the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an identifiable head form and high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Revere Coffee shop logo style a little dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font style which floats above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the style attributes and renowned Revere element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Revereindoor designer, design function a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Revere, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have been customized to tie directly right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Revere logo design job was carried out for a leadership consultant that assists business leaders to develop into more effective at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Revere business logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Revere logo design utilizing an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Revere company logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Revere regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of multiple which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to make a image that projected confidence, financial success, and affluence.

Revere Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally dealing with arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous Revere sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
