Rockland Logo Design

Every new Rockland company realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely grasp the vital role their company logo can perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the prosperity of a company, pick the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Rockland businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Rockland coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of the city and wanted to project a nostalgic tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by creating a sign concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and germs developed for Rockland clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Rockland.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Rockland travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rockland logo design but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Rockland logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Rockland book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Rockland logo design used for advertising and marketing and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an archaic typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Rockland, style include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it appears that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which related an atmosphere of contentment and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Las Cafe logo style a small restaurant, layout includes a changed script font which floats above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design attributes and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Rockland business logo dsign with an illustration which captures the attention of vehicles and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really composed for an Rockland area farm it was really designed for a products broker, and this trademark was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to generate a graphic that projected confidence, success, and wealth.
Logo made for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the business owner to produce a logo design that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
