Shrewsbury, Massachusetts Logo Design

Every new Shrewsbury organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs fully recognize the pivotal role their business logo will play in their success, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Shrewsbury, Massachusetts companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Shrewsbury, Massachusetts coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an older part of the area and hoped to visualize a retro tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by designing a custom logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Shrewsbury, Massachusetts medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Shrewsbury, Massachusetts travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Shrewsbury logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Shrewsbury logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Shrewsbury, Massachusetts book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the things individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

Shrewsbury logo style made use of for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that conveyed a spirit of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of making just a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, style consists of a changed script font style which hovers over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the layout attributes and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to sell their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Shrewsbury logo design dsign along with an image that captures the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really composed for an Shrewsbury, Massachusetts regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to design a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and wealth.

Shrewsbury Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo designed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is similar to a renowned sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
