TIPS ON SELECTING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t contain actual examples odds are they won’t be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Southbridge LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done brand design work for builders, schools, heart surgeons, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and just about every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are just as successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that really sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might have found online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to do, we perform ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of project we accept, logo design, web page, trade show banners, or electric sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s projects to contractors based outside the United States. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the cost of your project and imposes the terms of how we do business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Southbridge company realizes that they need a logo, but few new business owners entirely understand the vital role their organization’s logo will play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term influence on the success of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Southbridge companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need scrutiny, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of denoting something to make sure that it could be distinguished, its genesis comes from the brand burned onto animals. Today a brand indicates practically anything with an intention, regardless if it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy cousin, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target audience, it’s objective is to produce an image that the target market will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated by advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone states the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals identify with most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the history of the majority of branding agencies you’ll find that they are often re-branded marketing and advertising agencies. When somebody says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps shape the perception of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some identity designers also design sites as well as user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of influencing actions, outcomes as well as perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Southbridge coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the area and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by developing a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs developed for Southbridge medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Southbridge.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Southbridge traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Southbridge logo but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Southbridge logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how vital a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Southbridge book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a published book given that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many instances one of the aspects folks tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Southbridge logo design utilized for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Southbridge, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects because it seems that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Southbridge hair design studio including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that conveyed a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious course of making just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct company logo design fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable equine lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Southbridge Coffee shop logo design a small dining establishment, design consists of a changed script font which floats over a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a little restaurant, style includes a modified manuscript typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design functions and also iconic Southbridge element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

Develop logo design produced for a Southbridgeinterior designer, design function a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Southbridge interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who organizes, explores, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, site evaluations, programming, research, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Southbridge, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have actually been customized to tie straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Southbridge logo design assignment was performed for a management guide that enables business leaders to become more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and profitability.

A Southbridge business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Southbridge logo design along with an illustration which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Southbridge company logo layout has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really designed for an Southbridge regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to generate a brand mark that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Southbridge Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for externally dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a famous Southbridge sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
