TIPS FOR IDENTIFYING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but ultimately a design firm can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain actual examples odds are they won’t be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Swansea LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow memorable brands. We’ve done logo design work for mechanics, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, bistros, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business you can envision. What makes us different compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and remembered no matter of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which really sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might have come across on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform in-house. Regardless of the kind of design project we undertake, logo design, web page, trade show banners, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job-out our client’s work to companies based outside the US. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the price of your design project and determines the terms of how you and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Swansea business understands that they require a logo, however few start ups fully realize the pivotal role their organization’s logo will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo functions better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting influence on the viability of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Swansea companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to store signs a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s both a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of noting something so that it could be identified, its foundation originates from the mark burned onto livestock. These days a brand indicates basically anything with a motive, regardless of whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are all from the very same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to produce an image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the brand names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why people identify with specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of the majority of branding agencies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When a person states they are in advertising and marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody states “I am in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, perhaps it’s due to the fact that most individuals don’t know what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and perhaps even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual components of a product or business that affect view points. This largely includes the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors used yet can also include audio, illumination, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or heard belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design which helps shape the public image of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also design websites and also software interfaces. The necessary function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, results as well as assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Swansea coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an older part of town and hoped to cast a nostalgic feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both jobs by designing a trademark design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Swansea clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Swansea.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Swansea traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Swansea logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Swansea logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo design comprehend how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of challenges, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Swansea book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a published book because it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects people often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Swansea logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Swansea, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Swansea hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that carried an atmosphere of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style created for an equine ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind creative logo design styled to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. With an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable horse types in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Swansea restaurant logo style a small restaurant, design includes a customized manuscript font which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, design contains a modified manuscript font which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software designer the design features and also renowned Swansea element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo style produced for a Swanseainterior designer, layout function a series of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Swansea interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Swansea, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been modified to link directly into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Swansea logo design assignment was performed for a leadership expert that enables business professionals to become more successful at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Swansea business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Swansea logo design utilizing a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Swansea company logo style has an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Swansea area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of many which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to produce a graphic that projected confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.

Swansea Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally facing arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a renowned Swansea sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created loads of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
