STRATEGIES ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but in the end a design agency can only be evaluated by the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t contain actual examples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Woburn LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners establish memorable brand identities. We’ve undertaken logo design work for builders, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, coffee shops, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as if it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logos are equally successful whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you may have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to do, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of design project we undertake, logo, website design, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s work to 3rd parties located outside the US. When you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the cost of your design project and dictates the conditions of how we do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Woburn company knows they need a logo, yet few start ups entirely comprehend the key role their logo can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo functions better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Woburn businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the product or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s both a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of noting something so that it could be identified, its foundation comes from the brand burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand symbolizes basically anything with an objective, regardless if it be earnings or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to create an image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person mentions the names Ferrari or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can move us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of most branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded marketing and advertising companies. When a person claims they are in marketing most people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when somebody states “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, possibly it’s because most people do not recognize what it implies to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and maybe even attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that describes the visual elements of a product or company that influence perceptions. This mainly includes the name, the logo, the packaging, the different colors used however can additionally consist of audio, lights, texture, signs, actually anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design that helps shape the image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and pamphlets. Some visual designers also build websites as well as user interfaces. The essential duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of affecting actions, outcomes and understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Woburn coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an old section of the town and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of creating a symbol design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and germs developed for Woburn medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Woburn.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Woburn travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Woburn logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Woburn logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how vital a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of obstacles, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Woburn book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most vital part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was surely a winner.

Woburn logo style made use of for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Instance features an old font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Woburn, layout include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a Woburn hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that related a feeling of ease and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo layout created for a steed cattle ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct company logo design styled to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately recognizable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Woburn Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, design includes a modified script font style which floats over a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny restaurant, design includes a customized script font which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout functions and also iconic Woburn element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

Develop logo style developed for a Woburnindoor developer, design feature a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Woburn interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who plans, explores, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, building and construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Woburn, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of words advanced have been modified to link directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Woburn logo design project was carried out for a leadership specialist that helps business professionals to develop into more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Woburn business logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Woburn logo design with an image which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Woburn company logo layout has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Woburn area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this trademark was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a brand mark that projects assurance, success, and affluence.

Woburn Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is evocative a well-known Woburn sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
