POINTERS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they simply cannot refund the amount of time you invest which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but in the end a designer can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life samples odds are they will never be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s goal is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they can get paid.

Allendale LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds grow unforgettable brands. We’ve undertaken brand design work for farmers, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, coffee shops, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as though it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that truly sets ImageCo apart from many of the design companies that you might possibly have stumbled upon in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform in-house. Regardless of the type of design project we take on, business logo, website design, trade show banners, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to organizations based outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the cost of your project and dictates the conditions of how you and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Allendale business knows they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully recognize the vital role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has a critical and lasting influence on the prosperity of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Allendale businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to retail signs a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the process of denoting something so that it could be identified, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto animals. Nowadays a brand signifies basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a target market, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the audience will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody says the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, elegance, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals get most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the history of most branding agencies you’ll discover that they are quite often re-branded marketing and advertising agencies. When somebody says they are in marketing many people will likely have a preconceived notion about what they do. Yet when somebody claims “I’m in branding”… it simply sounds more impressive, perhaps it’s since the majority of people don’t know what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and perhaps even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual elements of a product or business that affect perceptions. This primarily consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors used however can likewise consist of audio, illumination, texture, signs, just about anything that can be seen, touched or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps shape the image of a business, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as sales brochures. Some visual designers also design web sites and software interfaces. The important function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as a psychological tone with the goal of affecting activities, results and understandings.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Allendale coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old part of the community and wished to cast a vintage tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs via designing a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria designed for Allendale clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog developed for a household enjoyable facility in Allendale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Allendale travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Allendale logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Allendale logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo job has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Allendale book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book since it is in most cases the very first thing a person sees in the book store. Concerning a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems like that in many cases one of the traits folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Allendale logo design utilized for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, that looked to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Allendale, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a Allendale hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which carried a spirit of simplicity and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious course of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the emphasis on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for an equine ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original organization logo design styled to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having an identifiable head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Allendale Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, design contains a customized manuscript font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small restaurant, style includes a customized script typeface which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo style for a software developer the layout functions as well as iconic Allendale element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Develop logo layout created for a Allendaleinterior designer, design attribute a series of red circles that converge as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Allendale interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who arranges, researches, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that involves conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, investigation, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Allendale, the characters for letter V and also A in middle of the word advanced have actually been changed to link directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Allendale logo design assignment was performed for a leadership consultant that helps business professionals to become more efficient at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Allendale business logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Allendale business logo design with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ farms, this Allendale company logo design has actually an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Allendale regional farm it was really devised for a products broker, and this brand was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a graphic that projected trust, financial success, and affluence.

Allendale Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for ostensibly dealing with arrow as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design created for using a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a well-known Allendale sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
